Dr. Shawana Moore currently serves as an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Women’s Health/Gender Related Nurse Practitioner Program at Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson College of Nursing. She has a passion for providing women’s and reproductive health care to underserved populations. She actively maintains clinical practice by serving as a WHNP at healthcare organizations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Her research interests include women’s health, transgender care, adolescent empowerment, preconception counseling, contraception, maternal obesity, telehealth in the women’s health care setting, diversity/inclusion, and equity. She presents on these topics locally and nationally.

Dr. Moore serves on the Board of Directors of NPWH. She is the co-coordinator of the organization’s Student Leader Group providing opportunities for WHNP students to network nationally with each other and to interact with WHNP leaders at the annual NPWH conference. She is also the co-coordinator for the 3rd edition of the NPWH WHNP Certification Examination Review course offered online.
