Dr. Nalo Hamilton is Associate Professor at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Nursing and a member of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. She earned a PhD in biochemistry at Meharry Medical College and an MSN at Vanderbilt University. Her continued practice as an advanced practice registered nurse in various ambulatory settings helps to inform her research program. Currently, Dr. Hamilton investigates the prognostic and therapeutic potential of insulin-like growth factor 2 and other steroid receptors in the development and progression of triple-negative breast cancer. Her research has been supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the California Breast Cancer Research Program, and the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health. She has received recognition for her research from the American Association for Cancer Research, UCLA, and the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH).
