Dr. Beth Kelsey has served as editor in chief for the journal since 2013. She is director of publications for the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health with the primary responsibility of leading the writing of position statements. She holds an educational doctorate and is an inducted fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. As a women’s health nurse practitioner (WHNP), she has provided healthcare at family planning, prenatal, and sexually transmitted infection clinics. As an educator, she taught for over 30 years at Ball State University in Indiana, serving as DNP program director and teaching women’s health and advanced practice role in the family nurse practitioner program. Dr. Kelsey is coeditor of Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Certification Review Guide (5th ed., 2020) and served as chair of the task force in writing WHNP: Guidelines for Practice and Education (8th ed., 2020). She is dedicated to mentoring WHNPs to grow professionally as leaders in women’s and gender-related healthcare, engaging with aspiring writers both one on one and through writing workshops.
